Féile Bia na Mara is a culinary celebration of Achill's rich heritage with the sea and it showcases the bountiful harvest of the Atlantic Ocean. Celebrated chef and author Jenny Bristow, Ireland’s Good Food Ambassador, was the Guest of Honour at this year’s festival. Tá seanfhocal do Féile Bia na Mara: is maith an t-anlann an t-ocras. Photo Galleries Complimentary oyster-tasting on Thursday 15th will be followed on Friday by the Gala Seafood Buffet in Ostán Oileann Acla on Friday 16th, where every imaginable type of seafood will be displayed in a traditional Achill currach. Jenny Bristow will officially open the festival at this event, and over the next two days there will be plenty of opportunities to taste a variety of Achill Seafood. Achill Tourism hopes that visitors and local people alike will enjoy all the activities that are on offer for the weekend, from Seaweed Safaris to Fish Markets and family Sand Castle Competition to Cailín agus Buachaill Óg and cookery demonstrations. "Achill's Got Talent", Seafood BBQs and the RNLI Lifeboat and Coastguard Demonstration will offer entertainment for all ages.
